I am knowledgable about gem stones, event though this is not necessary to enjoy this book. It provides a clear and inspiring understanding of how the Lord Jesuus Christ is reflected in gem stones in our everyday lives. I beleive its a glimpse into what the Kingdom of God or heaven, will be like. I imagine God wants to give us gifts, like gem stones, far above or beyond what we could think or imagine here on earth. If we think gem stones are great, God has even greater things in store for us. This book inspires one to think this way. Joan's book helped me at a critical juncture in my life when I was trying to decide whether or not to pursue the jewelry industry as a career. I can honestly say it provided answers and guided my thinking as I made the step into the world of gem stones. God is represented in all fascets of nature including the beauty of gems. Joan's book brings out the richness of this fact and makes one realize how great is the God to whom we pray.
