American Government
Major changes in American politics and the results of two presidential elections in the last five years have been skillfully woven into the text for this second edition. Besides adding material on the 1988 and 1992 elections and the Bush and Clinton presidencies, the authors have reviewed the federal budget process in the light of the economic chalenges of the 1990s: included recent judicial decisions in civil liberties and civil rights: reworked the foreign policy chapter, reflecting U.S. response to the collapse of the Soviet Union: and addressed the politicization of the judicial appointment process, the increasing important of ethics issues, and the changing face of Congress.
